The building features Greco-Roman columns and the Great Dome, as well as a Roman numeral inscription reading "MCMXVI" for 1916, the year of the establishment of the current MIT campus. In accordance with the time period of this ring, one can find MIT's most recognizable structure, central Building 10, on either side of the main element. Over the course of the school's history since the emergence of the class ring, the design has changed quite a bit. Also called "brass rat" rings, they feature MIT's mascot at the center- a beaver in a rectangular frame. This incredible MIT class ring from 1959 is a fabulous representation of the school's history.
